39th Annual White Marlin Open "Day One"

The 39th Annual White Marlin Open got underway officially this morning and this year's edition has seen a slight increase in boat participation, from 237 last year to 254 this year. Estimated total payout this year is $2.3 million. Today is expected to be an active day at the scales at event headquarters, Harbour Island Marina (pictured), as 10 boats ventured offshore early this morning to take advantage of favorable offshore fishing conditions.
