Weather for offshore fishing
When planning an offshore or inshore fishing trip in and around Ocean City, Maryland its important to track the weather. Unlike a day on the beach, fishing success can also depend on the direction and strength of the wind. Inland tides in Ocean City also play a huge part in landing the big one. Incoming high tides are favorable and slack tide usually means that you will slow down on your target fish unless you are going for bottom feeders such as skate and blue crab! Remember the weather is not the same offshore as it is in town. A beautiful day in Ocean City does not mean it will be identical 40 miles offshore. When planning your trip take the following into consideration: Tides, winds, and water temperature. Take advantage of the multiple Ocean City fishing reports available to see where and what others are catching. Good luck anglers!
Dramamine or not? Thats the question. The weather offshore can be a bit different than in town. Fishing off the coast of Ocean City can involve a bit of a trip. Popular fishing spots range from 2 miles offshore for wreck fishing and striper fishing to 80+ miles out for the big stuff!
