  • My buddy, Shane Moore, who owns the Moore Bills (nice 60" custom that I do some of the tournaments with) was in VA Beach fishing their rockfish tournament on another boat last week. There were reports of boats getting spooled by something just a few miles offshore which led us to believe that the giant bluefins were making their annual day or two run towards Newfoundland and had come way inshore to feed on the massive rockfish run. He called his Captain in OC and had him run his boat down. Caught a 76" (~ 260lb) Friday and I caught this 78" (280-300lb) Saturday. And then they were gone by afternoon. Our fish will be at the Tokyo Fish Market by Weds and we should have a check by end of week

    Marlin Club Results

Not long after the terrible Nor' Easter of 1933 cut the inlet in Ocean City, local sportfishing captains discovered unbelievable numbers of marlin congregating not far offshore in the Atlantic. It didn't take long for a group of local captains and Sportfishermen to band together to form a loose-knit organization aimed at conserving this new found resource, and to promote Ocean City's sportfishing. Years later they became known as the Ocean City Marlin Club. The OCMC is working to create an interest in our area's sport fishing and promote the conservation of the sea and her creatures.
